Job Description:
An offshore operator is seeking an experienced 2nd Engineer to join a tugboat working on terminal operations in Libya. The role involves maintaining and operating engine room systems, with a strong focus on vessels equipped with CAT main engines.
This position is suited for engineers with prior tugboat experience and familiarity with terminal support activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all mechanical systems during intensive port and towing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Operating and maintaining main engines and auxiliary machinery (CAT engines)
• Assisting the Chief Engineer in daily engine room management
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems
• Ensuring safe and efficient engine room operations during terminal work
• Maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Requirements:
• Valid STCW certificates
• Medical fitness certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Experience with CAT main engines
• Previous experience as 2nd Engineer on tugboats preferred
