The world’s first tanker museum HS01 «Surahana» project opened in Baku

Museum ship designed to house museum exhibitions and serve as a floating restaurant. On March 1, 2021, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev opened a unique ship-museum project HS01 «Surakhan» on the embankment of Baku.
The first ship-museum on the Caspian Sea and the first tanker in the world - the museum of the project HS01 is made on the basis of «three island» tanker, in tanks, superstructures and decks of which exhibits are organized, reflecting the history of navigation on the Caspian Sea, the history of oil production on the Caspian Sea, History of ports, ship repair and shipbuilding plants of Baku, past, present and future of maritime Azerbaijan. The ship has museum expositions in six cargo and dry compartments.
Equipment and facilities have been restored in the cargo pump room, engine room, boiler room, rumple  room, red corner, company cabin, crew dining room with buffet, galley, cabins of the captain, senior assistant, second assistant, Third assistant, radio operator, wheelhouse, navigator, radio room and radio store. Authentic anchor and mooring equipment, lifeboats and other deck equipment have been restored.
The main features of the HS01 Project Museum are: the maximum length is 123.50 m; the width is 16.00 m; the height is 5.50 m; and the maximum permitted number of people on board is 150. Restaurant, area / capacity - 167 sq. m / 68; cafe, area / seating capacity - 250 sq. m / 84.
