 Jack-up floating drilling rig Satti increased its lifting capacity by 1.5 times


Caspian Drilling Company Limited has completed the modification of the Satti jack-up floating drilling rig assembled at the Offshore Supply and Logistics Base in Baku.

The modification made it possible to increase the carrying capacity from 453 to 680 tons, now Satti is able to effectively drill oil and gas wells at a depth of 6 thousand meters.

According to the agreement between KMG Drilling & Services, a subsidiary of KMG, and Caspian Drilling Company Ltd, a subsidiary of SOCAR, 2 exploration and 1 option wells will be drilled with the help of jack-up rigs on the Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP) structure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

Caspian Drilling Company Ltd has extensive experience in modernization and construction of drilling rigs.

Upon completion of the modernization, Caspian Drilling Company Ltd will carry out operational management of this asset.
