China's Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (a division of CSS) has launched another of a series of megacontainers for the Evergreen Line.

The vessel, named Ever Alot, is the largest container ship of all existing by nominal capacity. If the previous world record holder Ever Ace holds 23,992 TEU, then Ever Alot with the same dimensions will be able to take on board 24,004 TEU.

CSSC has received an order for the construction of a total of six container ships of this type.

According to Alphaliner, Evergreen currently has the largest order portfolio among major carriers (second only to MSC in terms of capacity). According to the company, its goal is to create the newest, technically advanced and stable fleet of container ships.

The total capacity of the ordered vessels is 607,402 TEU.

In addition to mega container ships, Evergreen this year ordered from CSSC 24 feeder vessels with a capacity from 1800 to 3000 TEU, and before that - 20 container ships for 15,000 TEU each.
