A passenger ship has crashed into a coral reef in Indonesia

Passenger motor vessel Permata Lestari II, owned by PT Atosim Lampung Pelayaran, crashed into a coral reef near Lombok Island,

The collision damaged the coral reef. The area where fresh coral fragments were found was approximately 19 acres.

Among the pieces of coral there are fragments of the ship's hull.

Indonesia's Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries has asked the company to be socially and economically responsible for restoring the health of the coral reefs.

Residents of Jakarta, Indonesia, have been warned of extreme weather conditions that could trigger floods and landslides on October 19-20, 2021.
