Job Description:
DOF Canada is recruiting experienced Second Engineers to join its fleet of Canadian-flagged Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs). The company operates one of the world's leading offshore fleets, supporting subsea and Oil & Gas operations with advanced vessels, ROV systems, and survey technologies. Successful candidates will work on a 28-day rotation and become part of a professional offshore team operating in Canadian waters.
Open Position:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the safe and efficient operation of the engine department.
- Take responsibility for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of engine room machinery and mechanical installations.
- Perform planned and corrective maintenance on propulsion, auxiliary, and mechanical systems.
- Stand engine room watches and monitor machinery performance.
- Supervise engine room personnel and conduct Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks.
- Assist with vessel bunkering operations.
- Maintain Engine Logbooks and Oil Record Books in accordance with company procedures and MARPOL requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISM Code, Transport Canada regulations, company Safety Management System (SMS), and HSE standards.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education in Marine Engineering (or equivalent).
- Valid Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Motor Ship Certificate of Competency (CoC).
- Valid STCW certificates:
- Basic Safety (BST)
- Medical Emergency Duties (MED)
- Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSC)
- Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)
- Valid Marine Advanced First Aid certificate.
- Valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate.
- Valid Canadian Passport.
- Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) Certificate of Proficiency is considered an advantage.
- Experience on Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) with diesel-electric and hybrid propulsion systems.
- Experience on large AHTS vessels is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISM Code, MARPOL, Transport Canada, and Canadian maritime regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in the offshore industry.
- Good knowledge of diesel-electric propulsion systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and, if required, a criminal background check.
