Location: International (Heavy Lift Fleet)
Atlas NextWave is currently recruiting an experienced 2nd Engineer to join their client's international heavy lift fleet on a 12-month contract. As a key member of the engineering team, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain and optimise the vessel’s engine room and technical systems, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of safety and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of maintenance projects on board.
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Maintain and optimise engine room systems, machinery, and equipment
• Assist the Chief Engineer in planning and executing maintenance schedules and projects
• Perform routine checks, inspections, and diagnostics on machinery
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures
• Support in the execution of planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
• Record all maintenance activities, machinery conditions, and operating parameters
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for vessel operations and technical systems
• Provide support in emergency procedures and drills as required
• 2nd Engineer CoC (Certificate of Competency)
• BOSIET CAEBS (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training with CA-EBS)
• STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers)
• GWO Working at Height (Global Wind Organisation certification for Working at Height)
• GWO Manual Handling (Global Wind Organisation certification for Manual Handling)
• OGUK Medical (Offshore Medical Certificate)
• Dutch speaking (Highly desirable)
• Panama Seaman’s Book (Preferred)
