Job Description
Status Maritime Corp. is recruiting a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer for an LPG Tanker Vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the vessel's engine department, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of propulsion machinery, auxiliary systems, and gas carrier equipment.
The Chief Engineer will supervise engineering personnel, oversee maintenance and repairs, and ensure compliance with company procedures, international maritime regulations, and applicable gas carrier safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Manage and supervise all engine-room operations and engineering personnel.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of main engines, auxiliary machinery, and technical systems.
- Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Monitor fuel consumption, machinery performance, and technical records.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and LPG Tanker Vessel operating procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency.
- Valid STCW certificates applicable to rank.
- Valid medical fitness certificate.
- Relevant experience as Chief Engineer.
- LPG or gas carrier experience and relevant gas tanker qualifications, as required.
- Valid passport and seafarer's documents.
- Good English communication skills.
- Strong leadership, technical management, and safety awareness.
