The project of the river-sea vessel with a sailing rig
The Dutch company Conoship International Projects has presented a project of a new river-sea type vessel for a general cargo with a sailing rig.
The vessel with a deadweight of 3.6 thousand tons will be equipped with diesel-electric power plants, as well as two rigid sails.
The length of the vessel will be 88 m, width - 13.2 m, maximum draft - 5 m, volume of cargo holds - 5 thousand cubic meters, speed - 10 knots.
The company notes that the vessel is designed taking into account the possibility of using alternative fuels, including hydrogen and ammonia.
In total, Conoship intends to build a series of six vessels. It is planned that the first one will be built at the Fosen Yard Emden shipyard in Germany and put into operation in the spring of 2022, the rest - during 2023.
