The vessel is located off the coast of the southern state of Nigeria Delta.
"We are reporting a sad incident - a fire that engulfed our oil production facility in the Trinity Spirit Sea, located at the Ukpokiti terminal, after an explosion that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday. The cause of the explosion is being investigated," the company said in a statement.
