Stolt Tankers begins a partnership with We Forest and One Tree Planted

Stolt Tankers Joint Service (STJS) pool, along with its partners NYK Line , Tufton and Farvatn Capital, has donated $100,000 to two nonprofit organizations, One Tree Planted and We Forest. organizations with extensive experience managing reforestation, carbon sequestration and environmental impact projects.

The donation reflects Stolt Tankers' broader commitment to reduce its own carbon intensity by 50 percent by 2030 (compared to 2008) and become a fully carbon-neutral business by 2050. A fund with revenues dedicated entirely to carbon reduction, fuel efficiency and environmental initiatives. Commenting on the partnership with One Tree Planted and We Forest, Lucas Vos, president of Stolt Tankers, said, "I am pleased to make a $100,000 donation with our partners NYK, Tufton and Farvatn and believe it will help address many aspects of decarbonization in shipping. requires an 'all hands on deck' approach.

"This contribution demonstrates our mutual commitment to addressing the climate challenges of today and tomorrow by supporting reforestation and ocean mangrove ecosystems. We hope that our support will have an impact both by sequestering carbon and by helping communities and ecosystems on the front lines of climate change. A total of three projects will be supported with our donations. The first project, led by We Forest, aims to restore forests in the Desa Forest in Northern Ethiopia.

We also support a We Forest project to restore native bamboo and native trees in the Philippines, which will remove 500,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. Finally, Stolt Tankers is pleased to support One Tree Planted as part of their reforestation project in the Pacific Northwest, in which trees are planted along rivers and streams to improve water quality and ultimately salmon health and numbers to support wild orca populations.
