Palma de Mallorca is the first city in Spain to limit the number of cruise liners

Palma de Mallorca becomes the first city in Spain to limit the number of cruise liners moored in its port.

According to AZERTAC, starting from 2022, Palma will receive only three cruise liners per day, and only one of them will be a mega cruise with a capacity of more than 5 thousand passengers.

The agreement signed in Hamburg between the Government of the Balearic Islands and international shipping companies provides for no more than 8,500 cruise passengers per day in a weekly calculation and provides for a 15 percent reduction in the number of calls to the island's capital.

The agreement, which will be in effect for the next five years, is aimed at improving the environmental performance of the island.
