Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K LINE) and Daito Corporation will open "K" LINE Group's first finished vehicle terminal in Japan at Yokohama Daikoku Terminal C-4 starting April 2022. K" LINE Group is leasing the terminal from Yokohama Port Terminal Corporation (YPC) and will operate it at the Port of Yokohama, which handles one of the largest volumes of finished vehicles in Japan.

The terminal is capable of handling a wide range of products, including new and used cars, construction equipment, and prefabricated cargo, and can also be used as a transshipment base for finished vehicles to meet a variety of needs. Thus, the new terminal will help streamline vehicle handling at the Port of Yokohama as a whole by accepting vessels other than those served by the "K" LINE. "We are also aiming to create an environmentally friendly terminal by introducing LED lighting for nighttime operations, electric vehicles for the terminal's vehicles and the use of electricity from renewable energy sources.

At the same time, we will strive to improve safety, environment and quality, which are important issues for the Group, by actively using digital technologies such as AI and IoT, including the automation of entry and exit gates and the implementation of advanced terminal management systems, and by creating a value-added terminal. We will respond flexibly and proactively to customer needs, including the growing need for environmental and digital solutions.

In addition, we will continue to protect the environment in our operations, contribute to a sustainable society and maximize corporate value based on the "K" LINE Environmental Vision 2050.
