Job Description:
We are urgently seeking an experienced Motorman to join a client's Split Hopper Barge operating in the UK. The successful candidate will support the engine department with machinery maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and general engine-room duties.
The position is scheduled to start on 21 September 2026 for a 6-week contract. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK and hold an A/III/5 Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist with routine maintenance and servicing of engine-room machinery.
Carry out greasing, lubrication, and basic mechanical maintenance.
Assist engineers with inspections, repairs, and machinery operations.
Maintain engine-room cleanliness and good housekeeping standards.
Follow onboard safety procedures and company HSE requirements.
Requirements:
Valid A/III/5 Licence.
Valid UK Work Permit / Right to Work in the UK.
Valid STCW certificates.
Valid medical fitness certificate.
Relevant experience as a Motorman.
Previous experience on similar vessels is an advantage.
Good English communication skills.
