Job Description:

SWAR INDIA SHIPPING SERVICES PVT. LTD. is currently recruiting qualified and experienced seafarers to join a Research Vessel (GRT 1000).

The company is looking for experienced officers and crew members for deck, engine, electrical, and catering departments. Candidates should have relevant sea service and experience in their respective positions. Previous research vessel experience is preferred for certain positions.

Expected Joining: Mid-December.

Available Positions & Requirements:

Deck Department:

• Master

• Minimum 8 years of seagoing experience, including Master/Command experience.
• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, navigation, passage planning, and crew management.
• Experience in emergency procedures and HSE.
• Ability to coordinate with owner's representatives.

• 2nd Officer

• Minimum 5 years of Deck Officer experience.
• Good knowledge of navigation, passage planning, ECDIS, and GMDSS.
• Experience with voyage documentation, safety procedures, and emergency drills.
• Research vessel experience preferred.

• AB (Able Seaman)

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably onboard vessels.
• Experience in deck operations, deck machinery, and vessel maintenance.
• Ability to support onboard research operations.

Engine Department:

• Chief Engineer

• Minimum 8 years of experience as Chief Engineer or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Wärtsilä and Caterpillar engines.
• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauls.
• Strong engine room management skills.

• 3rd Engineer

• Minimum 5 years of Engineering Officer experience.
• Experience in engine maintenance, inspections, and generator operations.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and overhauls.
• Wärtsilä / Caterpillar engine knowledge required.

• Oiler

• Minimum 3 years of engine-room or machinery experience.
• Experience in inspections, lubrication, and leak detection.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance and engine room logbooks.

Electrical Department:

• ETO (Electro-Technical Officer)

• Minimum 5 years of marine electrical / ETO experience.
• Experience with generators, switchboards, motors, automation systems, sensors, and alarms.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and isolation procedures.

Catering Department:

• Cook

• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably onboard vessels.
• Experience in meal preparation and menu planning.
• Knowledge of food storage and galley hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations according to the assigned rank.
• Performing navigation, engineering, electrical, or deck duties as applicable.
• Maintaining onboard equipment, machinery, and safety systems.
• Supporting onboard research activities and vessel operations.
• Following company policies, international maritime regulations, and HSE procedures.

• Relevant sea service and experience according to the applied position.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Valid seafarer's documents and certificates.
• Good knowledge of English communication.
• Previous research vessel experience preferred for relevant positions.
• Specific technical experience with Wärtsilä / Caterpillar engines for engineering positions, where applicable.
