Job Description

Nasom Limited is seeking competent, qualified and experienced maritime professionals to join its marine team in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.

We are recruiting personnel across the Deck, Engine and Electrical Departments, as well as catering services. Candidates must possess valid maritime qualifications, relevant sea-going experience and the required safety and medical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned position, responsibilities may include:

• Perform duties associated with the assigned rank in accordance with company policies and vessel procedures.
• Support safe and efficient vessel operations.
• Carry out navigation, bridge watchkeeping, deck, engine-room, electrical or catering duties as applicable.
• Operate, inspect and maintain vessel machinery, equipment and systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and report defects or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain operational readiness and ensure compliance with applicable maritime regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, emergency drills and response activities.
• Follow company HSE procedures and applicable safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
• Work effectively as part of a professional marine crew.

Requirements

General Requirements

• Relevant maritime certification and Certificate of Competency (CoC) appropriate to the applied position.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Relevant sea-going experience in the same or a similar rank.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Compliance with applicable maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong safety awareness and professional conduct.
• Ability to perform duties responsibly in a marine operational environment.

Position-Specific Requirements

Vessel Master

• Valid Master CoC appropriate to the vessel and operational requirements.
• Relevant command experience and strong leadership skills.

Chief Mate / Chief Officer

• Valid CoC appropriate to the position.
• Relevant deck operations, navigation and crew-supervision experience.

2nd Mate

• Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) CoC, as applicable.
• Relevant bridge watchkeeping and navigation experience.

Chief Engineer

• Valid Chief Engineer CoC appropriate to the vessel.
• Relevant engine-room management and technical experience.

2nd Engineer

• Valid engineering CoC appropriate to the rank.
• Relevant machinery operation and maintenance experience.

3rd Engineer

• Valid engineering CoC appropriate to the rank.
• Relevant engine-room experience.

Able Seaman (AB)

• Valid AB qualification / applicable Certificate of Proficiency.
• Relevant deck and vessel-operation experience.

Electro-Technical Officer (ETO)

• Relevant electro-technical qualification and certification.
• Experience with marine electrical, electronic and control systems.

Oiler

• Relevant engine-room rating qualification, where applicable.
• Experience with machinery maintenance, lubrication and engine-room operations.

Cook

• Relevant catering experience, preferably onboard vessels.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, galley sanitation and safe food handling.
