Crew for Tug Boat (Caribbean)

Job Description:

Boreas Maritime is recruiting experienced seafarers for two conventional tugboat operations in the Caribbean. The company is seeking qualified deck and engine department personnel, including officers and ratings, to join tug operations around Jamaica, Caribbean routes, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Candidates with proven tugboat experience are preferred, particularly those based in the Caribbean or Latin America. A valid US visa is an advantage but is not mandatory. Officers must be fluent in English.

Open Positions:

Tug 01 – Jamaica & Caribbean Routes

• Master
• Chief Mate
• Able Seaman (AB)
• Ordinary Seaman / Cook (OS/Cook)
• Chief Engineer
• Oiler

Tug 02 – Turks and Caicos Islands

• Master
• Ordinary Seaman / Cook (OS/Cook)
• Oiler

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring safe navigation and tugboat operations in accordance with applicable maritime regulations.
• Assisting with towing, manoeuvring, and other tugboat operations.
• Maintaining deck equipment, machinery, and onboard systems according to assigned duties.
• Supporting engine room operations, maintenance, and routine inspections where applicable.
• Maintaining onboard safety, cleanliness, and emergency preparedness.

Requirements:

• Relevant maritime qualifications and certificates for the applied position.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Proven tugboat experience.
• Fluency in English for officer positions.
• Candidates based in the Caribbean or Latin America are particularly welcome.
• Valid US visa preferred but not essential.
• Relevant experience and qualifications for the assigned deck, engine, or catering duties.
