Job Description
A leading offshore operator is currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barge DP2 supporting offshore oil and gas operations in Qatar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the engine department, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of propulsion systems, power generation, auxiliary machinery, and DP-related equipment while maintaining full compliance with international maritime regulations and company HSE policies.
This opportunity is ideal for Chief Engineers with extensive experience onboard Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barges engaged in offshore projects.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage all engine room operations and engineering personnel
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery
- Supervise planned maintenance and repair activities
- Monitor power generation, electrical distribution, and DP support systems
- Maintain engine room documentation and maintenance records
- Coordinate machinery repairs with shore management when required
- Conduct emergency drills and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with STCW requirements, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company HSE procedures
- Maintain operational readiness and effective teamwork onboard
Requirements
- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency
- Minimum 24–36 months of experience as Chief Engineer onboard a Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barge DP2
- Valid STCW certification package
- Valid CoC and Flag State Endorsement
- Valid passport
- Valid seaman book with documented sea service
- Previous employer references
- Valid medical certificate
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership, engineering management, and troubleshooting skills
- Physically and medically fit for offshore service
