Job Description
A reputable offshore vessel operator is urgently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a Self-Propelled Jack Up Barge DP2 operating in Qatar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the engine department, maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, supervision of engineering personnel, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all technical systems onboard.
This opportunity is ideal for senior engineering professionals with extensive experience on Self-Propelled Jack Up Barges and strong knowledge of offshore vessel operations.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage all engine room operations and engineering personnel
- Oversee maintenance and repair of propulsion and auxiliary machinery
- Ensure operational readiness of all mechanical and electrical systems
- Monitor machinery performance and fuel efficiency
- Plan and supervise preventive maintenance programs
- Maintain technical documentation and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company procedures
- Support safe offshore and DP vessel operations
- Coordinate emergency response and engineering safety procedures
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC)
- Valid STCW certification package
- Minimum 24–36 months actual onboard experience as Chief Engineer on Self-Propelled Jack Up Barges
- Valid passport and seaman book
- Valid medical certificate
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Good English communication skills
