Job Description:

Boreas Maritime is recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer to join Tug 01, operating around Jamaica and Caribbean routes. The successful candidate should have relevant tugboat engineering experience, appropriate professional qualifications, and the ability to oversee the vessel's machinery and engine room operations.

Candidates based in the Caribbean or Latin America are particularly welcome. A valid US visa is an advantage but is not mandatory. The role requires a professional approach to maintenance, technical inspections, and onboard safety.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery.
• Manage engine room activities and conduct routine technical inspections.
• Troubleshoot machinery faults and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Maintain engineering records and ensure equipment readiness.
• Follow onboard safety procedures and applicable maritime regulations.

• Appropriate engineering qualifications and certificates for the Chief Engineer position.
