Job Description:
iPS Powerful People is proactively building a pool of experienced Chief Engineers for upcoming offshore projects worldwide. This role is not linked to a specific vacancy but is part of an ongoing recruitment campaign to identify professionals who are ready to mobilize quickly for future assignments.
The Chief Engineer will work onboard specialized offshore vessels involved in cable laying, rock dumping, wind farm installation, and other offshore construction activities. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all vessel engineering systems. Details regarding vessel type, contract duration, and rotation will be defined once a suitable project becomes available.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to: • Overseeing and optimizing the performance of all onboard machinery and engineering systems
• Planning and supervising maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure operational reliability
• Leading and coordinating the engineering team, enforcing safety procedures and best practices
• Maintaining accurate records of fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and equipment status
• Ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards
• Managing spare parts and consumables inventory, including timely replenishment
Requirements:
• Valid STCW certificates relevant to the rank
• Valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer
• Valid National Medical Certificate (MLC) and Offshore Medical Certificate
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken
• Experience on offshore vessels such as Cable Layers, Pipe Layers, Jack-Ups, Offshore Installation Vessels, and Flexible Fallpipe Vessels
• BOSIET or FOET certification
• High Voltage and DP Maintenance certifications
• GWO 5 Modules certification (advantage)
• Permit to work in the EU
• UK FWP or USA B1 Visa with wind farm activities annotation (non-OCS) – considered an advantage
