Job Description

Fortis Engineering is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join its marine operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the engine department and ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of propulsion machinery, auxiliary engines, and onboard technical systems.

Position Available

• Chief Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all engine department operations
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of propulsion and auxiliary machinery
• Supervise engine room personnel
• Coordinate planned maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Monitor machinery performance and technical readiness
• Maintain technical records and engine room documentation
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

• Relevant Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Valid STCW certification
• Valid seafarer's documents and certificates
• Relevant experience as Chief Engineer
• Good English communication skills
• Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities
• Good leadership and teamwork skills
