Job Description:
Helder Maritiem is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join an Offshore Barge operating in the Netherlands.
Joining is planned for the end of September 2026 on a 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off rotation. This is a long-term position. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and management of all engine room machinery while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Manage all engine room operations and maintenance activities.
Supervise and lead the engine department.
Ensure safe and efficient operation of propulsion and auxiliary systems.
Maintain PMS records and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and international maritime regulations.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates
Medical Fitness Certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Croatian or EU nationality
Valid maritime certificates
Mandatory A1 Certificate
Previous offshore barge experience
Appropriate Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency
