Job Description

Apremar is recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer to join its offshore fleet onboard a Diving Support Vessel (DSV) or ASD Tug.

The successful candidate will oversee the vessel’s engine department, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of propulsion machinery, auxiliary systems and technical equipment. The Chief Engineer will also supervise maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all engine department operations.
• Maintain propulsion systems, generators and auxiliary machinery.
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance and technical repairs.
• Troubleshoot machinery faults and ensure equipment reliability.
• Supervise engine department personnel and assign duties.
• Maintain technical records and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Requirements

• Valid National Chief Engineer CoC appropriate to the vessel and position.
• Minimum 2 years of experience on offshore vessels.
• At least 6 months of experience on the same vessel type.
• Previous Chief Engineer experience on DSV or ASD Tug vessels.
• Valid STCW certificates and relevant professional endorsements.
• Valid medical fitness certificate, passport and seaman’s book, as applicable.
• Strong technical, troubleshooting and leadership skills.
• ADNOC approval eligibility is an advantage.

Employment Details

Vessel: DSV / ASD Tug
Rotation Options: 4 months on / 30 days off, or 2–3 months on / 1 month off, depending on the assignment.
