Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join an AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessel operating in Qatar. The vessel is equipped with a Niigata engine, and the role involves overseeing all engine room operations, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and maintenance of all machinery onboard.
This is a short-term rotational contract of 90 days, requiring strong hands-on experience in offshore AHTS operations and proven leadership in the engine department.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Managing and overseeing all engine room operations onboard
• Ensuring safe and efficient operation of Niigata propulsion and auxiliary systems
• Planning and executing maintenance and repair schedules
• Supervising engine department crew and delegating tasks
• Ensuring compliance with international maritime safety and environmental regulations
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on AHTS vessels
• Valid STCW certificates
• Proven experience with Niigata engines (preferred/required)
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Strong leadership and communication skills
