Job Description:

Atlas NextWave is seeking an experienced Bosun to join a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) operating at London Gateway, United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will supervise deck ratings, coordinate daily deck activities, and support maintenance, mooring, and dredging-related operations. Applicants must have relevant deck experience and hold the STCW II/5 certificate specified in the vacancy.

The initial assignment is for six weeks, with the opportunity to return after leave and potentially move onto a permanent crew rotation schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Supervise deck ratings and coordinate daily deck activities.
• Assist with deck maintenance, mooring, and operational tasks.
• Inspect and maintain deck equipment and safety gear.
• Ensure assigned work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Follow instructions from deck officers and comply with onboard safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience as a Bosun or in a comparable deck position.
• STCW II/5 certificate, as specified in the vacancy.
• Valid STCW certificates and applicable endorsements.
• Valid Seaman’s Book and medical fitness certificate, where applicable.
• Practical knowledge of deck maintenance, mooring, and deck equipment.
• Good communication skills, leadership abilities, and a safety-conscious attitude.
• Availability to join on 23 December 2026.
• Willingness to complete the initial six-week assignment, with potential for future rotation employment.
