JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Third Engineer with License over 3000KW (III/1)
Vessel Type: Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS)

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Chief Engineer in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all engine room machinery, including main engines, auxiliary engines, generators, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
• Monitor and maintain the vessel’s power generation and distribution systems, ensuring all electrical and mechanical systems operate efficiently.
• Supervise and train the engine room crew, ensuring all personnel follow safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all machinery, identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
• Assist in managing the vessel’s planned maintenance system (PMS), ensuring that all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time and according to specifications.
• Maintain accurate records and logs related to engine room operations, including maintenance activities, fuel consumption, and performance data.
• Support the Chief Engineer in managing inventory and requisitioning spare parts, tools, and consumables required for engine room operations.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, including MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM Code requirements.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures, ensuring the engine room crew is prepared for any situation.
• Collaborate with the bridge team and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient vessel operations, particularly during anchor handling, towing, and rig move operations.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in audits, inspections, and surveys conducted by flag state, port state, and third-party organizations.
• The role requires working in a maritime environment, which may include harsh weather conditions and extended periods at sea.
• The candidate must be physically fit and able to work in confined spaces.

REQUIREMENTS
• Certification: Valid Third Engineer License (III/1) with unlimited power.
• Experience: Significant experience as a Third Engineer on similar vessels, preferably with experience in towing operations.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with the operational and safety requirements of tug boat towing operations.
• Physical Fitness: Capability to perform duties under physically demanding maritime conditions.
