Job Description

Fortis Engineering is seeking a qualified Second Engineer to join its marine operations.

The successful candidate will assist the Chief Engineer in managing engine room activities, maintaining machinery, and ensuring the reliable operation of the vessel's engineering systems.

Position Available

• Second Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer with engine department operations
• Supervise assigned engine room personnel
• Monitor the operation of propulsion and auxiliary machinery
• Carry out maintenance and repair activities
• Support the implementation of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
• Maintain machinery records and technical documentation
• Follow onboard safety and environmental procedures

Requirements

• Relevant Second Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Valid STCW certification
• Valid seafarer's documents and certificates
• Relevant experience as Second Engineer
• Good English communication skills
• Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
