Job Description

Apremar is seeking a qualified and experienced 2nd Engineer to join an ASD Tug operating within its offshore fleet.

The successful candidate will assist the Chief Engineer in managing engine-room operations, maintaining propulsion and auxiliary machinery, troubleshooting technical problems and ensuring the safe operation of onboard systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer with daily engine-room operations.
• Operate, inspect and maintain propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
• Carry out planned maintenance and technical repairs.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
• Monitor machinery performance and report defects.
• Maintain maintenance records and follow onboard safety procedures.

Requirements

• Valid National CoC appropriate to the 2nd Engineer position.
• Minimum 2 years of experience on offshore vessels.
• At least 6 months of experience on the same vessel type.
• Previous experience as 2nd Engineer on ASD Tug vessels.
• Valid STCW certificates and relevant professional endorsements.
• Valid medical fitness certificate, passport and seaman’s book, as applicable.
• Good technical, troubleshooting and teamwork skills.
• ADNOC approval eligibility is an advantage.

Employment Details

Vessel: ASD Tug
Rotation Options: 4 months on / 30 days off, or 2–3 months on / 1 month off, depending on the assignment.
