Fitter for Bulk Carrier Vessel

Job Description:

SSM Maritime Services Inc. is recruiting a Fitter to support the engineering department aboard a bulk carrier. The successful candidate will carry out mechanical maintenance, assist with repairs, and help keep vessel machinery and equipment in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on vessel equipment.
• Assist with fabrication and metalwork as required.
• Inspect machinery and report defects to engineering officers.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.

Requirements:

• Relevant mechanical qualifications or experience as a shipboard Fitter.
• Previous experience on bulk carriers preferred.
• Valid STCW certificates as required for the position.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Proficiency in English communication.
