Job description
Motorman
· Assisting the Mechanic and ensuring that the regular preventive maintenance activities for all mechanical equipment on the rig occur in a timely manner to prevent down time.
· Ensuring the efficient and continual functioning of the mechanical equipment on board.
· Assisting the Mechanic with major repairs ensuring that fuel and oil transfers from the water vessel are performed following procedures.
· Assessing, maintaining and lubricating machinery to keep it running efficiently.
· Testing equipment to ensure its operating correctly.
· Ordering tools and replacement parts as and when required.
Rig Mechanic
· Ensure the efficient and continual functioning of all mechanical equipment.
· Carrying out timely preventive maintenance activities and special projects involving mechanical components.
· Planning and implementing projects that include maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. Instructing, training, providing direction and supervising the Motorman.
· Working in a safe and efficient manner.
· Ensuring work complies with all company rules and regulations.
· Assisting the Electrician with repairs to various motors, refrigeration, air conditioning and freezers/coolers when necessary.
