Description
We are now recruiting Senior Sustainability Engineer for Doha.
Qualifications
· Engineering Degree or Masters.
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in performing Sustainability related activities for oil and gas industries.
· Sustainability related certifications/ trainings
· Project management certifications/ trainings
Experience
· Sustainability related management systems, auditing and reporting.
· Supply chain, supplier relationship management and material life cycle management.
Computer knowledge
· Conversant with usual business suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Personal qualities
· Ability to working in cross cultural teams and at all hierarchical levels
· Rigor and critical sense, open-minded, keen to knowledge sharing.
· Strong listening / communication skills.
· Fluency in English mandatory
· Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
a. Assess what is in place today across COMPANY, including analysing assumptions of existing practices around the Sustainability Development Goals, including supply chain and community engagement, GHG, Energy efficiency, flaring reduction initiatives.
b. Reviews all initiatives in company scorecard for Sustainability impacts and gives recommendations to management. Map and align initiatives ensuring initiatives don’t undermine each other (eg Improved waste recycling increases GHG emissions, COMPANY recognition items are not environmentally friendly etc)
c. Develop business cases/initiatives to close gaps across all applicable SDGs.
d. Work with internal technical reference person (TRP) and external subject matter experts to develop or update COMPANYs policies related to GHG, Climate adaptation, biodiversity, water management, waste management, employment practices, employee-contractor rights, community impacts, public policy, anti-corruption and competitive behaviours, site restoration and rehabilitation, worker health and safety etc.
e. Develop consistent assumptions and criteria for evaluating sustainability related benefits/costs while approving plant modifications, process changes, procurement strategy changes, changes to any of the above-mentioned policies. Integrate these into existing tools and software's where applicable to allow all entities to participate. (eg GHG calculations, measurement of Air emissions, waste management, community impact (e.g. SROI-social return on investment)).
f. Create a Sustainability risk /opportunity matrix / virtual calculator tool to allow end users to gauge impacts of their initiatives.
