Description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Performs maintenance and repair of electrical components for the following:
Drilling equipment (i.e. drilling motors and auxiliaries, top drive systems, mud pumps, etc.);
Marine equipment (ie. thruster motors, ballast system, cranes, etc.); and
General rig equipment (i.e. HVAC, refrigeration plants, power, etc.). Ensure that operations are planned, organized, supervised and executed in accordance with well programs, rig move plans, company requirements and contractual obligations.
Coordinates planning and execution of preventive maintenance with a minimum of six week overview to cover current hitch and half of back‐to-back hitch; maintain an updated and accurate detailed historical record of all maintenance done as well as all equipment certification documents.
Prioritizes maintenance tasks assigned on safety & environmental critical equipment/systems (SECE’s) as defined in VAMS.
Qualifications / Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Basic electrical knowledge/skills through work experience or Certificate of education in lieu of work experience. Basic Computer Skills. Completion of all training and certification requirements for Electrician as described in the training matrix.
