Exploration and Production
Experience :
1. Varied installation maintenance and repair in a power generation and distribution environment, ideally within the oil & gas industry with some knowledge of related instrumentation
2. Program Logic Control (PLC) and in variable speed drives
3. Diesel Generators
4. Computer applications software such as Microsoft Office/Computerised Maintenance Systems (CMMS)
5. Receive work orders, discuss work required with the Electrical Supervisor, and estimate time, materials or spare parts required to complete the work. Receive schedule of repairs, with appropriate Permit to Work (PTW) and arranges for tools, wiring diagrams and test equipment
6. Carry out electrical equipment fault finding and repair work. Diagnose, check and repair faults on various items of equipment in the power generation and distribution system, including Air Conditioning (AC) generators, Auto Voltage Regulators, synchronising equipment and protection relays. Use multi meters, insulation resistance meters, and cable fault location techniques on motors, electronic control systems and circuit breakers. Repair faults by repairing or replacing parts on relays, breakers, contractors, isolators and other switchgear components. Test unit using various test equipment (voltmeters, current meters, etc) before and after repairs to ensure work has been carried out correctly
7. Carry out the routine maintenance of various power generation and distribution equipment and related switchgear, and other equipment such as motors, pumps, chlorine units, elevators, transformers, crane and hoists and Gas Turbine equipment. Include inspecting and testing equipment according to check-lists and calibrate relays as required. Clean and replace defective or worn parts, repairs starters, drive systems, generators, alternators and switches. Complete maintenance tasks, restart and test equipment in running condition
8. Carry out workshop overhauls of electrical equipment. Include stripping down units, changing parts, replacing electronic cards and bench testing equipment before re-installation. Maintain various electrical tools, test equipment and domestic appliances such as kitchen ranges, dishwashers, hot water boilers, washing machines, onboard entertainment systems and ensure that all function correctly. Keep workshop tools and the test bench in clean and operational condition at all times and identify requirements for consumable supplies, tools and equipment
9. Assist in major shutdown and overhaul work, which includes the dismantling, testing of electrical equipment including high voltage motors and starters, switchgear and feeder breakers.
10. Carry out cable installation and repairs
11. Work towards completion of Competency Development Assurance (CDA) assessment scheme
