About the job assistant driller - preferably german speaking (onshore)
assistant driller
purpose of job:
the assistant driller is responsible to the driller for the day-to-day operation on the unit.
Primary responsibilities:
to assist and relieve the driller as necessary in supervising all work carried out on the drilling unit ensuring that such work is carried out efficiently and in compliance with authorised operating procedures and company safety policy.
To assist in preparing all tools and equipment required for well operations.
To ensure that all handles on the koomey unit are in the open position when bop's are in use and that the pressures necessary for the operation of the unit are correct.
To carry out maintenance repair or replacement tasks in accordance with company's planned preventative maintenance system.
To bring to the immediate notice of their supervisors actual and potential hazards to safety health plant and equipment which come to their attention in the course of their work.
To direct the personnel under their authority (dfos and floorhands) in the practical steps to ensure that all working places are maintained in a clean tidy and safe condition and all working practices employed are safe.
To carry out competence assessment in respect of departmental staff.
To use and operate the forklift for site operations (only when certified).
Safety responsibilities:
to be familiar and comply with the company safety policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themself and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions as required under local health and safety legislation.
To ensure that all working places for personnel on the installation are always so far as reasonably practical safe within the meaning of the above.
To ensure that planned safety inspections and audits on the installation are carried out by themself and those under their authority in accordance with company safety policy.
Responsible for stopping any operation condition or situation which is deemed unsafe.
Qualification requirements:
minimum 2-year experience on computer-based offshore/onshore drilling rigs including 1-2-year experience as assistant driller or similar drilling related position.
Including minimum 1-year as dfo or similar drilling related position.
Conversant with safety management principles.
Computer literate and conversant with computer-based control systems.
Well control certificate driller level issued by an institution approved by iwcf.
Working knowledge of english both spoken and written.
Safety training courses and medical certificate (ukooa or equivalent) in accordance with the requirements stipulated for regular crew by the authority for the current operating area. Local medical examination might be conducted when required.
Training as per the training matrix or as designated by vanguard drilling. Iwcf level 3 oeuk medical scc or vca first aid training (mintra) & forklift license
