Overview / Responsibilities
Chief Field Engineer (EOI) - Hull Site Based
Wood Process & Energy are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Construction Chief Field Engineers to support a potential upcoming project for a duration of 2 years, ideally on a staff basis. The role will develop execution strategies with the Construction Managers and Project Managers to ensure the HAZCON risk assessment process is carried out.
Based in Saltend, Hull the appointed will manage the Construction Field activities on site with responsibility for several direct reports including Project Engineers, Construction Engineers, Turnover Engineers, Material Engineers and Quality Engineers.
Representing Wood at our Client Construction Site you will also:
Set up, manage and maintain the Wood Field Engineering office on site, capable of handling all engineering matters drawings, specifications, field requisitions, as built drawings, etc. for a single area site.
Provide engineering expertise to field construction for permanent and temporary works, ensuring that the work is completed safely (HAZCON), efficiently (Constructability) and to quality (Site Quality Plan) in accordance with the applicable specifications and in line with accepted engineering practices.
Manage and maintain the Wood site material control system to ensure that materials are received, stored and issued to the contractors and Client in a coordinated, and timely manner, with due regard for the preservation and maintenance of the materials.
Set up, manage and maintain a Document Control System to ensure effective control and distribution of drawings, specifications, procedures, method statements and all other documentation between Wood, Client and all construction contractors.
Ensure the necessary resources, tools, and time to carry out inspection is incorporated into the project plans and budgets, p rovide constructability input to design and execution processes, input to construction execution strategy, contracting strategy and milestone planning.
Verify the scope of work is completed and handed over to the Client/Operator in a defined, timely and systematic process, ensure familiarity with the Resident Site Manager's functions, and deputise via authorised delegation at any time, if required.
Agree and manage for Wood and/or Client any permitting approvals required from national or local authorities, s et up, manage and maintain a completion and turnover system to support phased and systemised Inspection, Testing, Acceptance and Handover of completed work.
Skills / Qualifications
Demonstrable experience in a similar construction/engineering role
Degree/HND/HNC or similar with equivalent industry experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical
Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving and decision making skills
UK wide EPC or EPCm experience
Demonstrable experience of management
