Job Description:
VNW Marine Services (Vanguard Next Wave) is urgently seeking an experienced Marine Surveyor based in Livorno, Italy, or the surrounding area to attend a vessel on behalf of one of its clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a Port State Control (PSC) Follow-Up Survey and an Additional International Safety Management (ISM) Audit, followed by the preparation and submission of a comprehensive professional report.
This is an urgent short-term assignment requiring prompt availability and extensive experience in marine inspection and auditing.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Conduct a Port State Control (PSC) Follow-Up Survey onboard the assigned vessel.
Perform an Additional ISM Audit in accordance with applicable regulations.
Identify deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
Prepare and submit detailed professional survey and audit reports.
Ensure inspections are carried out in compliance with international maritime standards.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates (if applicable)
Medical fitness certificate
Proficiency in English communication
Proven experience conducting PSC Follow-Up Surveys
Qualified to perform ISM Audits
Strong professional reporting and documentation skills
Ability to attend the vessel at short notice
Marine surveying or auditing qualifications preferred
