Job Description:
We are urgently seeking a Marine Technical Superintendent to join the Fleet Technical Department. The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for supervising the technical condition, maintenance, and performance of a diverse offshore and marine fleet, ensuring full compliance with international standards, Class, Flag State requirements, ISM Code, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise machinery and technical systems, monitoring vessel condition in accordance with ISM Code, Class, and industry standards
- Analyze causes of machinery failures and damages, coordinating corrective actions with crew and contractors
- Support and brief vessel personnel on company policies, documentation, and technical procedures
- Verify and monitor execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities
- Liaise with OEMs, service engineers, and contractors for technical support
- Monitor defect lists and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Prepare technical specifications for repair works and evaluate tenders
- Superintend vessels during dry dock and maintenance periods for various vessel types (pipelayers, MPSVs, OSVs, crane vessels, self-elevating platforms, crew boats, tugs, diving/ROV support vessels) in Italy and abroad
- Manage requisitions, purchase orders, and logistics for spare parts and consumables
- Provide technical support to the fleet, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
- Report directly to the Head of Technical Department
Requirements:
- Previous experience as Chief Engineer and/or Technical Superintendent is preferred
- Strong technical competence in marine engineering is mandatory
- Valid STCW Chief Engineer CoC is an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of marine engineering systems, maintenance, and repair
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad, including extended assignments for dry docks and missions
- Preference for candidates based near Ravenna or Ortona (relocation support may be provided)
