Job Description:

Boreas Maritime is seeking an experienced Oiler to join Tug 01, operating around Jamaica and Caribbean routes. Candidates should have relevant engine room experience, valid maritime documents, and the ability to assist with machinery operation, routine maintenance, and technical inspections.

Applicants based in the Caribbean or Latin America are particularly welcome. A valid US visa is an advantage but is not mandatory. The successful candidate should be safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work effectively within the engine department.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with engine room operations and routine machinery checks.
• Monitor machinery conditions and report irregularities to engineering officers.
• Support preventive maintenance and basic technical tasks.
• Maintain engine room cleanliness and follow safe working practices.
• Assist with onboard safety procedures and emergency readiness.

Requirements:

• Relevant maritime qualifications and certificates for the Oiler position.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Proven engine room experience, preferably aboard tugboats.
