Job Description
Yi Hai Offshore is seeking an experienced Deck Foreman / Deck Supervisor to join the jack-up vessel Artemis in Taiwan. The successful candidate will supervise deck crew, oversee daily deck operations and vessel maintenance, and support jacking and jetting operations in coordination with the Chief Engineer and Chief Officer.
This position is suited to a hands-on offshore deck professional with strong leadership skills, a proactive safety mindset, and experience in a traditional Bosun or deck supervision role.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supervise Able Seafarers (ABs) and Ordinary Seafarers (OSs) during daily deck operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate deck crew activities and ensure assigned work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and support deck teams during jacking and jetting operations.
- Report operational progress, equipment issues, and relevant safety concerns to the Chief Engineer and Chief Officer.
- Ensure compliance with onboard safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Support deck equipment inspections and routine vessel maintenance.
Requirements
- Valid STCW certificates as Able Seafarer, Regulation II/4 and/or II/5, as applicable, with relevant endorsements.
- Valid medical fitness certificate.
- Proven experience supervising deck crew, including ABs and OSs, in daily operations and vessel maintenance.
- Practical offshore deck supervision experience, comparable to a traditional Bosun role.
- Ability to supervise and support jacking and jetting operations.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on jack-up vessels or offshore energy projects.
- Valid Crane Operator Certificate, Stage 3 or equivalent.
- Previous deck crane operating experience. Main crane operating capability is an advantage but is not mandatory.
