The Chief Officer on an AHTS vessel is the second‑in‑command after the Master and is responsible for the safe and efficient management of deck operations, anchor‑handling activities, cargo operations, stability, and crew supervision. The role requires strong leadership, offshore experience, and excellent knowledge of DP and anchor‑handling procedures.
Lead and supervise all anchor handling, towing, and mooring operations.
Ensure safe deployment and recovery of anchors, chains, and towing gear.
Coordinate with the bridge team during critical operations.
Monitor deck crew performance and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
