Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Chief Officer to join a UK-flagged Utility Vessel operating in Brittany, France, with port calls in Penzance, UK.

The successful candidate will support the Master with the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including navigation, deck operations, crew supervision and compliance with onboard safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Master with safe navigation and vessel operations.
• Supervise deck operations and onboard deck crew.
• Oversee mooring, maintenance and general deck activities.
• Maintain deck equipment and operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with company SMS, HSE and environmental procedures.
• Participate in emergency drills and safety activities.
• Maintain required bridge, deck and safety documentation.

Requirements

• Valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency.
• Relevant experience on utility, workboat or similar vessels.
• Valid STCW certificates and applicable endorsements.
• Valid Seaman's Book and medical certificate.
• Spanish / EU nationality with Spanish residence – mandatory.
• French and English language skills – mandatory.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
• Availability to join in November 2026.
