Job Description:
DOF Canada is recruiting experienced Chief Officers to join its fleet of Canadian-Flagged Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs). The company operates a modern fleet supporting offshore Oil & Gas and subsea operations. Successful candidates will work on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotation and play a key role in navigation, dynamic positioning, cargo operations, vessel safety, and offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Second-in-Command and assist the Master in the safe operation of the vessel.
- Act as Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) during offshore operations.
- Stand navigational watches and oversee bridge operations.
- Assist the Master in implementing the Company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Act as Safety Officer, Medical Representative, and Ship Security Officer (SSO) or Deputy SSO when required.
- Maintain vessel stability, trim, ballast, and cargo operations.
- Supervise deck operations, anchor handling, towing, and cargo transfer activities.
- Ensure maintenance and certification of lifesaving appliances, firefighting equipment, deck machinery, and lifting equipment.
- Manage deck maintenance programs, stores inventory, and garbage handling in accordance with MARPOL regulations.
- Organize vessel security, safe access arrangements, and watchkeeping while in port.
- Train and supervise deck department personnel.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and QHSE initiatives.
Requirements:
- Valid Chief Mate Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC).
- Valid Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) Unlimited Certificate.
- Valid Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties certificate.
- Ship Security Officer (SSO) Certificate is considered an advantage.
- Valid STCW certificates:
- Basic Safety (BST)
- Medical Emergency Duties (MED)
- Proficiency in Survival Craft (PSC)
- Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)
- Valid GMDSS General Operator's Certificate (GOC).
- Valid Passenger Safety Management Training certificate.
- Valid Marine Advanced First Aid & CPR certificate.
- Valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate.
- Valid Canadian Passport.
- Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) Certificate is considered an advantage.
- Previous experience on Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs).
- Experience in Anchor Handling and Towing Operations is mandatory.
- Experience on large AHTS vessels is considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS Code, MARPOL, Transport Canada, and Canadian maritime regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Successful candidates must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and may be required to complete a criminal background check.
