Job Description

TOS People is looking for an experienced French-speaking Chief Officer to join a guard vessel operating in the Netherlands.

The successful candidate will assist the Master with the safe operation of the vessel, supervise deck activities and ensure compliance with onboard safety procedures and applicable maritime regulations.

Candidates must hold valid STCW certificates, be available for the scheduled start date and meet the requirements for the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Master with vessel operations and safe navigation.
• Supervise deck crew and coordinate daily deck activities.
• Oversee deck maintenance, mooring operations and equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with onboard safety and environmental procedures.
• Participate in emergency drills and ensure crew readiness.
• Maintain accurate deck and safety documentation.

Requirements

• French-speaking – mandatory.
• Previous experience as a Chief Officer is preferred.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) and relevant endorsements.
• Valid passport, seaman’s book and medical fitness certificate, as applicable.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Availability to join on 11 December 2026.
• Ability to join the vessel in Den Helder, Netherlands.
