Job Description

An experienced Able Seaman is required to join a Research / Survey Vessel in Harwich, UK, for a contract commencing on  October 2026.

The successful candidate will support deck operations, vessel maintenance, and survey-related activities while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance onboard.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Carry out routine deck maintenance, cleaning, and preservation.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring, and other deck operations.
• Support survey and vessel operations as directed by the deck officers.
• Assist with deck equipment and machinery operations.
• Participate in drills and comply with onboard safety procedures.

Requirements

• AB CoC – mandatory.
• COVID-19 vaccination – required.
• UK or Falklands Seaman’s Book – mandatory.
• Valid UK Work Permit – mandatory.
• Full and valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Relevant experience as an Able Seaman.
• Good English communication skills.
