Job Description

Offshore Operations is seeking an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) operating from Great Yarmouth, UK.

The successful candidate will support daily deck operations, vessel maintenance, mooring activities and offshore operations. Applicants must have relevant experience on similar vessel types and hold the required maritime qualifications and safety certificates.

Candidates must be available to join around November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine deck maintenance and housekeeping.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring and general vessel operations.
• Support offshore personnel transfer and deck activities.
• Perform banksman and slinger duties during lifting operations.
• Inspect and maintain deck equipment and report any defects.
• Follow onboard safety procedures and participate in emergency drills.

Requirements

• Valid Able Seaman (AB) Certificate of Competency (CoC) – mandatory.
• Valid Banksman & Slinger certificate – mandatory.
• Previous experience on SOV or similar offshore vessels – essential.
• Full valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seaman's book.
• UK work permit required for non-British candidates.
• Good command of English and effective communication skills.
• Availability to join around 3 November 2026.
