Job Description

TOS People is recruiting an experienced French-speaking Able Seaman (AB) to join a guard vessel in the Netherlands.

The successful candidate will support daily deck operations, perform routine maintenance and assist with mooring activities and general vessel duties while following onboard safety procedures.

Candidates must hold valid STCW certificates and be available for the full assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine deck maintenance and housekeeping.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring and other deck operations.
• Inspect and maintain deck equipment as instructed.
• Support safe vessel operations and follow instructions from deck officers.
• Participate in onboard safety drills and emergency procedures.
• Report equipment defects and unsafe conditions to the appropriate officer.

Requirements

• French-speaking – mandatory.
• Previous experience as an Able Seaman on commercial or offshore vessels is preferred.
• Valid STCW certificates appropriate to the position.
• Valid AB qualification or relevant certificates of proficiency, as applicable.
• Valid passport, seaman’s book and medical fitness certificate, as applicable.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to join on 11 December 2026.
• Ability to join the vessel in Den Helder, Netherlands.
