Job Description:

Boreas Maritime is recruiting an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join Tug 01, operating around Jamaica and Caribbean routes. Candidates should have relevant deck experience, valid maritime certificates, and practical knowledge of tugboat operations.

Applicants based in the Caribbean or Latin America are particularly welcome. A valid US visa is an advantage but is not mandatory. The role requires a professional attitude, teamwork, and a strong commitment to onboard safety.

Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist with towing, mooring, anchoring, and vessel manoeuvring operations.
• Maintain deck equipment, ropes, and working areas.
• Carry out routine deck maintenance and inspections.
• Follow onboard safety procedures and participate in emergency drills.
• Support the Master and officers with daily deck operations.

Requirements:

• Relevant maritime qualifications and certificates for the Able Seaman position.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Proven experience as an Able Seaman, preferably aboard tugboats.
• Candidates based in the Caribbean or Latin America are particularly welcome.
• Valid US visa is preferred but not mandatory.
• Good communication skills, teamwork, and commitment to safety.
