Location: United Kingdom (UK Dredging Projects)
Boskalis Westminster is recruiting an Able Bodied Seaman (AB) to join one of its dredging projects in the United Kingdom. The role is based on a dredging vessel / multicat operating in UK waters.
The AB will support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel under the direction of the Master, working in compliance with MCA regulations and company safety standards. The position involves deck operations, maintenance, watchkeeping, and assistance to engineering staff as required. Contract terms and rotation are project-based.
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring the safety of the vessel, including acting as lookout in accordance with MCA regulations
• Cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of all vessel areas
• Assisting engineering staff and supporting planned maintenance tasks
• Performing watchkeeping duties, anchoring, and mooring operations
• Operating deck equipment such as cranes, RIBs, anchor windlass, etc.
• Completing required documentation and safety paperwork
• Carrying out galley duties and any other tasks as directed by the Master
• Valid STCW certificates
• Valid ENG1 Medical Fitness Certificate
• AB Ticket
• Right to Work in the UK
• Banksman Slinger certificate
• Basic Sea Survival & Fire Fighting certificates
• Experience in anchor handling, multicat and/or dredging operations
• Good level of safety awareness and compliance with safety KPIs
• Proficiency in English communication
• Contract Duration: Project-based / To be confirmed
