Job Description:
Helder Maritiem is looking for an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join a Cable Lay Barge operating in the Netherlands. The position is available with joining on 31 August 2026 or 8 September 2026, with a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation. The assignment is expected to continue until the end of 2026.
Candidates with previous cable lay and offshore deck experience are preferred.

• Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off

Key Responsibilities:
As per company and vessel requirements, duties may include but are not limited to:
• Carrying out general deck and seamanship duties onboard the cable lay barge
• Assisting with cable lay operations and related deck activities
• Supporting mooring, cargo handling, and offshore deck operations
• Maintaining deck equipment and work areas in safe working condition
• Following vessel safety, HSE, and operational procedures
Requirements:
• Previous experience as an Able Seaman
• Previous cable lay experience preferred
• Experience on barges or offshore vessels
• Valid STCW certificates and relevant maritime documents
• Valid medical fitness certificate
• Good English communication skills
• Nationality: Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian, or Dutch
• Availability to join on 31 August or 8 September 2026
